There were composed by Alfonso X, the Wise, was the king of Castille and Leon. Cantigas are poems written in Galician-Portuguese in honor for Maria Virgin.

There are short and simples songs, related about the sea and the sea society there was in that moment in Galicia.
 

A curiosity about "amigo" word (friend), in Cantigas means lover, suiter, wife or husband.

The great significance in Cantigas of Alfonso X is about wealth of music, literary and pictorial. All are developed in a combination of six beatiflul pictures were the story goes.

Most of Cantigas are about Virgin Maria miracles in Camino de Santiago.  This one is a medieval pilgrim route in the north of Spain. It croos all the north of Spain since France to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, were is the body of Saint James the Apostol. It's also called Milky Way because pilgrims can follow in the night.

Last year I had the chance to do El Camino de Santiago. I did 900 km between Roncesvalles (in the France border) to Santiago de Compostela, and them I continue my path to Finisterra, the end of the world. My baggage, only a little bag in my back, with change of clothes and water. It is a great experience, you fell a very stron sense of superation, love, friendship, freedom of the society rules, technology, ...

Ave Maria was written by Vladimir Vavilov, a Russian composer in 1970. We don't know exactly the reason this composer used to attribute his music to others dead composers. Mostly of them from Renaissance or Baroque period. Particularly the song "Ave Maríia" was attributed and dedicated to Ciulo Caccini.

In spite of his great compositions Vladimir Vavilov dead poor and without social acknowledgement, neither economic. Most of people prize the work of a person after death. I recomend you not wait to appreciate people you have around you. If you have somebody important in your life (sure you have) you will feel better telling how much important is for you.

Giulio Caccini was an Italian composer and a singer (tenor). He played lute, harp and zither too. Caccini lived in Florence. It's an Italian beautiful city. A few years ago I visited the city. It was a very special trip. The Academy was one of the places I visited.
When I come in the room and I saw Miguel Angel "David" the time stopped and a tear fall over my face. It's something not easy to explain. It was like the sculptura had a special energy.

Today we share with you Si Somos Americanos a song by Rolando Alarcon, Chilean composer.

Rolando Alarcon was known to be a great folk Chilean singer, guitarrist, pianist and teacher too.

The song "Si somos americanos" was recorded in the first LP like soloist in 1965.

The main theme of his lyrics are mostly about Chilean social problematic from his time. There were so important even crossed borders.

At first you can feel how the violins and flute melody caress you. Step by step you can feel like your senses are awaking. At the same time you can imagine the flower's blooming and little birds flying around. And finally feel the warm moorning light touching your skin.

Morning Mood was composed by Edward Grieg, a Norwegian composer. He is one of the mains Romantic composers. This sheet music belong to the Peer Gynt Op. 23.
