Today we have one the best trumpetist in the world, Arturo Sandoval, playing one of my favorites songs for the beauty and armony that have, "My Way".
He was born in Cuba, Arturo Sandoval was Irakere cofounder, it was the most importat Jazz gruop in Cuba. It was a amazing trio with the saxophonist Paquito D´Rivera and the pianist Chucho Valdés. The Pink Panter was ones of the first melodies I learnt to play with my sax. Even today I play sometimes, there is a lot of people who ask me to play it, my students like to listen too, mostly youngers. The Pink Panter is a blues melody it has something special, is very catchy and usually likes a lot of people. The first film was in 1963, afterwards there were more films. But the big explosion was after The Pink Panter Cartoons. I remember those years with affection. It was a little hard to adapt the composition, I didn't know if do it an easy adaptation o the real adaptation. Finally I'm very happy with the result. The Pink Panter is a compositon by Henry Mancini, he has very good songs like Moon River in Breakfast at Tiffany's film.
